My Instructional Design Philosophy
My approach to instructional design is learner-centered, purpose-driven, engaging, accessible, and practical. I design with learners’ needs, goals, experiences, and challenges in mind, ensuring that every activity supports a meaningful learning objective. I believe effective learning experiences should invite learners to participate, provide accessible ways to engage with content, and connect learning to real-world application. This approach aligns with current instructional design research emphasizing learner-centered design, active participation, inclusive learning experiences, and alignment between learning activities and intended outcomes (Herzberg, 2025; Framing the Core Expertise of Learning Designers Through Strong Concepts, 2025).
My interest in Learning & Development comes from my belief that learning should be more than simply presenting information. The best learning experiences help people understand why something matters, practice what they've learned, and feel confident applying it.
Through my work in instructional design, I've developed an interest in creating experiences that are both engaging and purposeful. I enjoy taking complex information and turning it into learning that feels clear, approachable, and relevant to the learner.
The Learning Design Bloom
My Resume
Designing learning experiences that make knowledge actionable.
When I'm not designing learning experiences, I'm constantly looking for opportunities to learn, create, and grow. I believe that being an effective instructional designer means being a lifelong learner first.
